A root canal removes infected, injured or dead pulp in a tooth in order to save it. Depending on the tooth, one, two, three or four channels may require treatment. The tooth is then filled and sealed with a temporary composite. Most patients report that the procedure is no more painful than treating a cavity.
After a root canal treatment, we strongly recommend that you restore and strengthen the tooth by adding a crown.
Once the nerve is attacked, a root canal treatment could save the tooth if you act quickly. After this point, the tooth must be removed and replaced with a bridge or implant.
Depending on your case, an entire treatment can be done in one or two visits of at least 90 minutes.
We offer the option of nitrous oxide sedation. This will help you feel at ease and will allow you to drive right after your appointment.
